New Delhi, June 20 (ANI): Amid the ongoing NEET results row, the Ministry of Education on June 19 cancelled the UGC-NET June 2024 exam. The NTA conducted the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination in OMR mode on June 18 in two shifts across India. The decision was taken after UGC received certain inputs from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under MHA. The inputs prima facie indicated that the integrity of the national eligibility test may have been compromised. Now, CBI to probe UGC-NET Exam compromise and to ensure the highest level of transparency, sanctity of exam. A political firestorm erupted over UGC-NET June 2024 Exam cancellation. While, NSUI president demanded a ban on NTA, Shiva Sena (UBT) launched a sharp attack on Govt. Varun Choudhary alleged involvement of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the alleged scams. NSUI called for nationwide protests at 300 university campuses across India followed by another protest on June 24. Meanwhile, a fresh examination shall be conducted, for which information shall be shared separately. GoI claimed that it is committed to ensure sanctity of examinations and protect the interest of students. As per, UGC NET official website, as many as 11,21,225 candidates appeared for the NET in June 2024.
