Chandrayaan-3 | “17 minutes of terror…” SAC Director at ISRO explains crucial stage of soft landing

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), August 22 (ANI): India’s ambitious lunar mission Chandrayaan-3 is smoothly inching closer the Moon. Chandrayaan-3 is expected to make a soft landing on Moon on August 23, 2023, at around 18:04 IST. The objectives of Chandrayaan-3, are safe and soft landing, rover roving on Moon's surface, and in-situ scientific experiments. However, the critical “17 minutes of terror” before the landing could pose a risk to the expected soft landing. Director of Space Applications Centre (ISRO) Nilesh M Desai explained the significance of these “17 minutes”.
