West Bank [Gaza], July 25: An Israeli military raid in the occupied West Bank killed at least five people, including a woman and her daughter, Palestinian officials said.
During the predawn operation in the Tulkarem refugee camp on Tuesday, drones hit armed fighters operating in the area, an Israeli military spokesperson said.
Several people were wounded during the hours-long Israeli incursion, with the Palestinian Wafa news agency reporting that more than 25 military vehicles, including bulldozers, stormed the camp. Hamas said on Telegram that Mohammad Awad and Muhammad Badie, commanders with Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, were also killed.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) estimates that Israel has killed at least 513 Palestinians in the West Bank since October 7.
Meanwhile, armed Palestinian groups were battling invading Israeli forces in southern Gaza as the civilian death toll continues to surge after nine months of devastating conflict.
At least 129 Palestinians have been killed and hundreds wounded in southern Khan Younis since Israel launched its latest attack with about 150,000 residents forced to flee over 24 hours, health officials said. At least 39,145 people have been killed and 90,257 injured in Israel's war on Gaza. The death toll in Israel from the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 is estimated at 1,139 with dozens of people still held captive in Gaza. (Agencies)
