Billionaire Elon Musk accepts to 'fight' with Venezuelan President

Washington [US], August 1: Forbes reported on July 31 that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro challenged billionaire Elon Musk to a boxing match on national television and the Tesla CEO accepted.
Maduro claimed victory in last weekend 's presidential election, despite the results being disputed and not recognized by the opposition and many countries. Billionaire Elon Musk called the results fraudulent and retweeted a post by Argentine President Javier Milei on social media calling on Maduro to concede.
On July 29, speaking on national television, President Maduro accused Mr. Musk of being behind the suspected attack on the computer system of the National Electoral Council (CNE), the unit that declared Mr. Maduro the winner without providing detailed vote counting results.
In response to comments from Elon Musk , founder of Tesla and SpaceX and owner of social network X, Maduro challenged the billionaire. "You want to fight? Okay Elon Musk. I'm ready, I'm not afraid of you. Let's fight, wherever you want," President Maduro said.
By July 31, Mr. Musk had accepted the challenge and confidently declared that "he (Maduro) would give up."
"If I win, he has to resign. If he wins, I will give him a free tour of Mars," Musk wrote on X.
It is unclear how the two men's challenge will materialize. Last year, Mr. Musk also proposed a fight with Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and was accepted, but the "fight" only ended in a verbal exchange on social media.
Billionaire Elon Musk has expressed his opposition to the election results in Venezuela . He also retweeted a 2020 DEA announcement, with criminal charges accusing President Maduro of drug trafficking, along with a $15 million reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of the Venezuelan leader.
